Unfortunately we cannot plan any "fun" activities at this time but...we 're trying to be creative!

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 28TH

COFFEE MORNING AT HOME - ACTION FOR CHILDREN

 action

Hasn’t it turned into a funny old year?                                                      cuppa
We’ve all had to adapt and learn
new ways of doing things,
indeed for some of us, there has been a lot more adapting and learning than others

Some things haven’t changed though, particularly the disproportionately greater impact of illness and increased poverty has on those in our communities that are already more vulnerable than most

Thankfully, friends at Hasbury and around the circuit have remained incredibly loving and generous, in their continued support for individuals and families, as well as projects and organisations in desperate need of support

In particular, your wonderful support for Action for Children has continued throughout the year, both with money donated as well as numerous ‘useful items’ which have ensured the garage at 132 Mendip Road has remained as Sylvia always insisted - a temporary storage facility, not for a car!

Sadly, the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions introduced to curtail its spread mean that we aren’t  able to hold the annual coffee morning and feast of bacon sandwiches at our home or church this year

 bacon sarnie                                                 teacake

We had hoped to be able to provide a doorstep delivery service just like ‘Deliveroo’ but the latest national lockdown has scuppered that idea - Oh what fun we could have had!

Fortunately, all is not lost and  you can join up with friends using the marvel of a smart phone or computer and catch-up, sharing time together having a cup of tea/coffee and munching on a bacon sandwich, round of toast, cake or bun.  I will even keep my windows closed so that I am able to enjoy the wonderful smell of bacon frying, that lingers long after people have left (usually until mid-December!). Simply decide what time suits you to join us and click on the appropriate link below

We don’t take your generosity for granted but as we are not going to be able to have the annual Toy Service or forward the offering  on Christmas Morning to Action for Children we will happily pass on any monetary donations to Action for Children

See below for links to zoom meetings.  You can join all, or some and come and go as you please.

Sunday 8th December 2019: Action for Children Toy Service toy service

Saturday November 16th  Action for Children Coffee Morning

we were delighted with the response, sold a hundred(!) bacon butties, spent time with friends, neighbours AND our Conservative Party candidate, James Morris. Particularly grateful to our local Co-Op for providing bread, milk and cakes and local butcher for the bacon. We raised an amazing amount of money too! £1476.20 so far, and we're still receiving extra gifts. This will make such a difference to young lives. THANK YOU for everyone who's supported this event.
